Antonio Larosa, is an Italian-American designer, consultant, and educator. Born and raised in Italy, Antonio studied architecture (M.Arch) and furniture design at the Polytechnic University of Milan, studying with the most important Italian design masters of the 20th Century. After relocating to the US, Mr. Larosa started his own design business and working as a consultant for many design companies. During the mid-1990’s, Antonio was Project Manager for the Italian Trade Commission, an Italian government trade agency. As a design professional with extensive knowledge of the North American market, lead the development of innovative and successful promotional events, exhibitions, and conferences aimed at showcasing and advancing Italian Design in the USA.
In 2008 Mr. Larosa was hired to teach and to be Department Chair of the Furniture Design and the Exhibition Design departments at SCAD, the largest art and Design University in the United States. For the past 25 years he has worked on a wide range of furniture and accessories collections for the residential and commercial markets, manufactured in United States and Europe, and currently marketed and sold worldwide. His designs have been on display at internationally renowned locations, such as the Vitra Design Museum and world class furniture shows (Milan, High Point, Verona, Tokio, Koln, Moscow, New York).
Antonio Larosa was selected to be included in PHOENIX: 21st Century City, an international book series honoring the finest artists, designers and architects in new emerging cities (Phoenix, Berlin, and Moscow) by UK based publisher Booth-Clibbon.
He frequent serves as a judge for design competitions and as a guest lecturer and instructor on a broad range of design topics. As a design visionary, Larosa has been the creator and driving force behind many unique design events in the US, including the Furniture Revolution Gallery at NeoCon in Chicago, and the Furniture Design Summit, which was the first conference in the US dedicated to furniture design that united manufacturers, designers, and students.
Antonio currently lives and works between Arizona, Alaska and Milan, Italy.
